Q: What makes a ‘good day’ at school?
A: A day where students are engaged and enjoying learning As a bonus, if there’s free food in the teacher’s lounge!
Q: How do you show your school spirit?
A: Attending sporting events as much as I can.
Q: What inspires you?
A: Seeing how God works in the lives of my students inspires me daily.
Q: What’s the best/worst thing about being a teacher?
A: The best part is seeing students grow in their learning and faith. The hardest part is knowing I can’t solve every challenge for them, but I trust in God’s sovereignty.
Q: What’s a school sport or activity you enjoy watching?
A: Basketball, because it’s fast-paced, intense, and always keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Q: How do you spend your summer breaks?
A: I work as a classroom teacher at Leonard Kirtz School, which serves students with developmental disabilities.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your job?
A: Getting to walk through life with students—teaching them, guiding them, and pointing them to Christ.
Q: What is your #1 rule in life?
A: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” – John 3:30
Q: What is your favorite day of the week?
A: Wednesday, because of chapel and discipleship groups. It’s a day to worship and grow in faith alongside others. Plus, we have shorter class periods.
Q: What is the best advice you have ever given?
A: Pray about it.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Inception
Q: What are you most passionate about?
A: Fulfilling my current assignments from the Lord—whether in teaching, at my church, or in my relationships.
Q: What is your favorite season?
A: Fall—because of the cross-country season, pumpkin spice lattes, cooler weather, and the beauty of the changing leaves.
Q: If you could choose a superpower, what would you pick?
A: Instant Coffee Refill – My mug never empties, no matter how chaotic the day gets.
Q: How long have you been coaching at Valley Christian?
A: 3 years.
Q: What are you most looking forward to this track season?
A: Seeing kids achieve their goals and grow as athletes, while also integrating our new coaching staff into the program to build a stronger, more unified team.
Q: Describe the organization of a typical track practice.
A: Arrive, warm-up, stretch, workout, huddle, pray, go home.
