We have recently been notified by local law enforcement of potential security issues at local high school athletic events. The safety of our students, families, and staff is of utmost importance to the board and administration of Valley Christian School. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, effective immediately, the following attendance policy is being implemented for all home athletic events.
Admission for VCS Students (Grades 7-12):
VCS students in grades 7-12 will be permitted entry to athletic events only with their valid student ID badge.
No exceptions will be made for students without their ID badge
Admission for Students from Other Schools:
Students from other schools will not be permitted entry unless they are current students of the opposing school.
Valley Christian School reserves the right to refuse entry to any individual.
In addition, we are implementing the following procedures:
Doors will not open until 5:00 PM for games.
The “Gate” table will be moved downstairs to the 1st floor near the High School stairs.
Doors will be locked at half-time, and there will be no admittance after the 2nd quarter of the contest.
Security will be increased from one law enforcement officer to two officers.
A Non-intrusive, walk-through metal detector will be installed at the front entrance for athletic events only.
Hoods, face masks, and book bags are prohibited.
To be clear, there have been no direct threats against VCS, and no VCS students have been involved in any activity. While we regret the need to take these measures, we will do everything we can to ensure the safety of our stakeholders and our guests.
